Lakeside
Here I am somewhere else in the USA with others like me (us) where we can all be ourselves. What a great feeling to be with others of the same minds. Fishing, relaxing and grilling to celebrate when the Americans with French help kicked some greasy foreigners out of the country. Was that the biggest mistake they ever made? Some people here think so.

Here we are, us again, me I think
A long break, caused by brain shut down, insomnia, fears, two weeks off sick, walking away from my job, taking a part time position, doctors visits, medication increases, just a typical few months really. We all agree, or most of us agree, this has been a good move. Fishing is good on the local lakes, and I've done a couple of "do me a favor" jobs for friends to get some pocket money. Have been sleeping a lot better recently, though tired a lot, even working only 3 days. It feels good to be honest about my problems, even to my spouse, and to see it's okay to say how I really feel (a new experience). So, looking forward to a new phase in life, having time to maintain my house, fishing, relaxing, guitar building....yippee.

Musings on the world politic
Just what is going on in the world? Why is everyone afraid of Iran? What were those crazy Brit sailors and marines doing? "Well, thank you, kind sirs, for arresting us, stealing all our stuff, making us confess to things we didn't do. Thank you for making us look like total plonkers to the world. No, it was only in the old days when service personnel didn't co-operate with the enemy just to get home sooner. Now in this modern world we cave in as soon as you put us in solitary in a dark room. Just dictate what you want me to sign, put me in front of the TV cameras and I'll say anything you tell me, just get me home to my mummy and favorite slippers by the fire."
Sorry to sound cynical, but unless these Brits were brainwashed and turned into zombies, that's what seems to have happened. Everyone knows, especially Iran, that even the USA doesn't have the manpower, political will, or public support, to fight a second war, when they can't even get a handle on the first one. The Brits armed forces are so pitifully small they couldn't even fight anything bigger than the Falklands, let alone a determined enemy not afraid of dying.
Also, while I'm at it, what is happening to Iraqi oil? Why doesn't the USA say, "Drill all the oil you want, we'll buy it and keep it as a reserve." Why are we still slaves to Saudi Arabia? Why doesn't someone get moving on building alternative fuel or power for automobiles?
Why don't the USA, or Israel just bomb Iran's reactor and get it over with? I suspect that they're scared of a Muslim jihad on the west, which they probably couldn't stop. The Muslim extremists don't care, they'll take over the West, probably well before the end of this century, by high birth rate and proselytizing, while the western European governments fall over themselves to suck up to them. Also, the Christian religion is rapidly being seen as weak and insipid, and can't attract many men. Islam, by contrast, is very much a man's religion and that's its great strength. Watch out the West, Europe first, and don't say I didn't warn you.

Back from the Caribbean
Yes man, I've been to de Carrib-beyan, I've seen Eric deMan Clapton's house. I've seen billionaires yachts, one was so big it had a helecopter, sailing boat, and power boat on the decks. Who is that rich? Some Russian billionaire who owns Chelsea Football Club in London. Who needs that much money? Well, I suppose he does. I was told he bought the yacht from Bill Gate's right hand man at Microsoft. Cash of course. There's and old joke, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I'm told here in the US that the middle class pay a lot more tax than they used to, and the rich pay less. That brings the good ol' USA into line with the rest of the western world, where the middle class get hammered and abused by the government. The rich and the poor don't care so much. The rich get taxed less so they can spend more and don't care about the price of anything. The poor (in Europe anyway) get state benefits and don't want to work, as they would lose money. It's the same old deja vu. We've all seen this film before, and we know the ending. As I was saying, the rich get richer........ Most amazing of all is that the middle class are by far the largest block of voters in society, the ones who vote governments and presidents into office; yet successive governments the western world over slit them up a treat, kick them in the crutch, then wonder why the governments are booted out of power so often, and even the ones in power are seen as the lesser of two evils, and are hated more and more. Why haven't the political parties caught on? Go figure. I wish someone could tell me. Are they as stupid as they look? I'll let you answer that.

Jack for President
I've been musing a lot recently about the Jack Bauer (24) method of leadership and doing things. He is the epitome of the motto of the UK special forces, the S.A.S. Who Dares, Wins. In my view, all business schools and leadership seminars should have a Jack Bauer branch, showing them how to get things done; a) without permission; and b) without keeping any rules. Jack is my hero. He should be president. My old teacher always said that rules are made to be broken, and there is Jack. Jack always gets his man, kills people he thinks are worthy of death, i.e. the bad guys. Jack doesn't take people to court where they get off with light sentences, he just takes them out. He doesn't respect people's privacy or property. He tortures people without mercy, knowing that he has a higher purpose; to get the bad guys and protect the public. He's a loner with a murdered wife by the dreaded Nina, the multilingual and multiloyal (or disloyal) slut. Worse of all he has to use her to help him sometimes, before finally killing her in Day 3 I think. "She was going for her gun, honest." "But Jack, she was fatally wounded and was writhing round on the floor. You could have kicked the gun away from her and arrested her." "No, I had to kill her, she was a threat." Okay Jack, you win. Imagine if Jack was hunting Osama Bin Laden. Osama would have no chance. "Chloe, get me a fix on Bin Laden. That's B-i-n L-a-d-e-n. he's a tall Arab in a white mufti carrying an AK-47 and a satellite phone." "Roger Jack. Let me just recalibrate every satellite in the world to my laptop, as well as every schematic of every building on the planet. I'm also checking on every AK-47 and every satellite phone sold in the last ten years. Shouldn't take too long, there's only fifty million records. I'm cross checking all sales to a tall Saudi in white mufti, especially those with rich families." "Chloe, time is running out. I need a fix on Bin Laden......NOW!" "Yes Jack, we have a fix on him, he's hiding in a cave on the Pakistani border, we have some Green Berets in the area." "Chloe, get me a chopper....NOW!" "Yes Jack, there's one coming in, he'll land on the top of the third flagpole, you can shimmy up the pole and jump on." "Roger Chloe." Jack leaps on the chopper, flies to Afghanistan in 30 seconds, beating the Green Berets. He leaps off the chopper, kills two thousand armed Al Quieda men by throwing sand in their faces at extreme velocity. He thens runs into the cave, and confronts Bin Laden. But, it's a double cross. Bin Laden is actually a CIA operative, sponsored by the NSA, the president, and bankrolled by rich US businessmen. He's working for the FBI, LAPD, and the NRA. He didn't have anything to do with 9/11, it was done by rogue CIA operatives who didn't like the color of President Bush's necktie. Jack being Jack, he calls to Bin Laden. "Put down the weapon. NOW." "But I'm on your side," Bin Laden protests. "I'm a patriot. I love my country." Jack responds, "I do not want to hurt you but I will kill you." "Won't that hurt?" Bin Laden asks. Jack cuts him short with a stream of 9mm bullets. Yes, Jack is our hero because he touches a raw nerve. We all know that if we keep our tidy Western world rules, law, and the Constitution, the terrorists will ultimately win, or we'll have to negotiate with them. We all know we can only win if we are as ruthless, or more so, than them. It's with heavy hearts that we know that our civilization will eventually be overrun by extremists, probably Islamists of some kind, and we Jews are doomed to another holocaust.
The answer is simple - Jack Bauer for President. He'd sort everyone out.

World gone crazy
Is it just me, or is the world going crazy? After spending some time with a trusted friend who helps people recover from severe trauma, she tells me she hears virtually the same story over and over again from people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, even from other countries. Without foolishly divulging details here, she is becoming more convinced of a pattern used in traumatizing people, often from childhood, to coerce them to carry out tasks they would not do in their right mind. I am aware I may sound as crazy as the people who see a spy under every tree and the like, but is it not strange that so many people are coming forward with similar symptoms and very similar tales of torture and abuse?
I hope I'm not getting paranoid, but I wonder what happened to the Nazi doctors after World War 2 that had conducted mind control experiments on concentration camp victims and other prisoners? It was well known that this happened. Some were tortured at length in weird experiments. Modesty forbids telling details. Many people think that some of these doctors, along with the likes of Verner von Braun, (who was a genius rocket scientist that designed the Vengance weapons that threatened to destroy London), were given free pardons and privileges in the USA and Britain, on condition they shared their knowledge. There were experts on rocket design, jet engines, atomic fusion, and mind control also? Von Braun helped design the USA's rockets and was instrumental in NASA's space successes. The fact that his weapons killed thousands of Londoners was quickly forgotten. Perhaps the Nazi doctors were also embraced as the Allies were so far behind the Nazis in mind control and were afraid that the Russians would seize the doctors before they could and win the next war, hot or cold.
I don't think this is very far fetched, even though I don't immediately believe any conspiracy theory off the bat. Some of the experiments in mind control are documented by the CIA under the name MK-ULTRA and the documents are available on the web as public record.
We can ask; how many people in hospitals and institutions, or have committed terrible crimes were messed up in one way or another in their childhood? All of them I think. Only the Good Lord knows the truth, and one day it will come out. Some, doubtless, were victims of poor parenting, poverty and lack of opportunities, but many, it is obvious, were viciously used, abused, and hurt. Just read the news every day if you don't believe me. How sad that their coping mechanisms have destroyed their lives and those of countless others whom they came into contact with.
Some friends and I were talking recently and we listed off so many baffling world situations it was not funny. Why do we still rely so much on fossil fuels? Why isn't more money spent on research to provide cleaner energy and automobiles? Why are we so reliant on Arab oil when they seem to fund terrorism against us? What's happening to Iraqi oil? I could go on. The conspiracy theorists used to seem to me to be completely crazy, but many of my friends, and I, now are wondering if there's a more than a grain of truth some of it? Perhaps we should all escape to Monty Python World for some relief.

Back to/from the fray
Back from a week of purdah in Michigan, in a snowy cabin on a frozen lake. How serene the place was as compared to the world in general. I also realized something anew as I flew back. On the ground, it was overcast with light snow. As my plane took off we flew up through the clouds and then suddenly burst through to the most beautiful golden orange sunlight dancing on the silver clouds beneath us. Some light scattered and made rainbows over the clouds. To one side there was a mighty wave of clouds, looking like a huge surfer's wave, frozen in time. I could also see the shadow of the plane flitting along on the cloud tops. I could wax lyrical for hours on many messages and symbols I was thinking of, but the main one was that the sun is always shining, it's just that sometimes we can't see it for the clouds. If you can fly above, you will be in perpetual sunshine. Reminds me of how God is seated in the heavenlies. He always sits in the light and doesn't have to worry about anything. We all worry, only because we can't see what's really happening...the clouds are obscuring the light for the moment. A break in the clouds always comes, together with a new awareness of seeing the light, and it's power and beauty. Must be a message there somewhere.

Shalom Israel
Shalom.....Hebrew for peace, wholeness, and more. How little we see this concept in the middle east. The Gaza strip is disintegrating, Lebanon is shooting itself in the heart, how sad that these nations show little, or no, evidence of being able to live in peace. Truly, they set a terrible example , along with Iraq, of what the Arab world appears to be. The pattern seems to be that, unless an iron fisted dictator or family controls the reins, the people just fight and destroy each other, destroying their country in the process. Contrast that to the western world, where, although there is dissent, there is democracy and order. Of course western society is not perfect and could be improved, but if it comes to a choice of the western Judeo/Christian ethical society where at least I can live peaceably and my wife has equal rights, or Arabian/Sharia society of great oppression, give me the former anytime, warts and all.

The Plodder
Still plodding along, with some successes and some failures. As long as I'm learning I suppose it's okay. I was training last night at some one's home. This is to be able to pray for sick/wounded people and to be able to discern any spiritual condition they have. Interesting, but I'm not sure I'm sold on everything. Made me think about those things in general. Who knows everything? I was on a site the other day that just slammed religion, there are no such people as Jews (makes you wonder why Hitler was so deceived), no such person as Jesus, evolution is king, bla bla. Then, I was on another website that proved creation and junked evolution. Just goes to show that there's so much stuff out there. My own spiritual walk is taking me, I think, deeper into the mystery of everything. If there is a God, and He made everything, He has to be a gazillion times more clever than us, together with being omnipresent, omniscient, etc. So, if He does exist, and is that powerful and intelligent, it's little wonder that our puny brains can't understand much about Him or the way He does things. Someone said they'd rather live a good life and find out there's no God when they die, rather than living a criminal life and finding out there is a Godd when they die - too late to do anything about it then. One of the things about keeping the Judeo/Christian creed is the the laws and commandments, if we kept them, would make a great society. It's good not to murder, steal, lie, and it's good to honor your parents and more. Mercy and compassion aren't bad things. I'm glad I don't feel so disillusioned with life that I feel the need to strap an explosive belt on my body stuffed with rusty nails and aids infected blood and detonate it in the local marketplace. There are of course some happy pagans, but, generally, when did you ever see a happy Moslem, or Buddhist? I think I'll stick with my faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and live in the the joy of His presence.

I tried to get too clever and put my old blog onto my website, but it just loops around and comes back to the website......aaaargh. So I've started this in case I can't get it back.
