Is it just me, or is the world going crazy? After spending some time with a trusted friend who helps people recover from severe trauma, she tells me she hears virtually the same story over and over again from people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, even from other countries. Without foolishly divulging details here, she is becoming more convinced of a pattern used in traumatizing people, often from childhood, to coerce them to carry out tasks they would not do in their right mind. I am aware I may sound as crazy as the people who see a spy under every tree and the like, but is it not strange that so many people are coming forward with similar symptoms and very similar tales of torture and abuse?
I hope I'm not getting paranoid, but I wonder what happened to the Nazi doctors after World War 2 that had conducted mind control experiments on concentration camp victims and other prisoners? It was well known that this happened. Some were tortured at length in weird experiments. Modesty forbids telling details. Many people think that some of these doctors, along with the likes of Verner von Braun, (who was a genius rocket scientist that designed the Vengance weapons that threatened to destroy London), were given free pardons and privileges in the USA and Britain, on condition they shared their knowledge. There were experts on rocket design, jet engines, atomic fusion, and mind control also? Von Braun helped design the USA's rockets and was instrumental in NASA's space successes. The fact that his weapons killed thousands of Londoners was quickly forgotten. Perhaps the Nazi doctors were also embraced as the Allies were so far behind the Nazis in mind control and were afraid that the Russians would seize the doctors before they could and win the next war, hot or cold.
I don't think this is very far fetched, even though I don't immediately believe any conspiracy theory off the bat. Some of the experiments in mind control are documented by the CIA under the name MK-ULTRA and the documents are available on the web as public record.
We can ask; how many people in hospitals and institutions, or have committed terrible crimes were messed up in one way or another in their childhood? All of them I think. Only the Good Lord knows the truth, and one day it will come out. Some, doubtless, were victims of poor parenting, poverty and lack of opportunities, but many, it is obvious, were viciously used, abused, and hurt. Just read the news every day if you don't believe me. How sad that their coping mechanisms have destroyed their lives and those of countless others whom they came into contact with.
Some friends and I were talking recently and we listed off so many baffling world situations it was not funny. Why do we still rely so much on fossil fuels? Why isn't more money spent on research to provide cleaner energy and automobiles? Why are we so reliant on Arab oil when they seem to fund terrorism against us? What's happening to Iraqi oil? I could go on. The conspiracy theorists used to seem to me to be completely crazy, but many of my friends, and I, now are wondering if there's a more than a grain of truth some of it? Perhaps we should all escape to Monty Python World for some relief.

Back to/from the fray
Back from a week of purdah in Michigan, in a snowy cabin on a frozen lake. How serene the place was as compared to the world in general. I also realized something anew as I flew back. On the ground, it was overcast with light snow. As my plane took off we flew up through the clouds and then suddenly burst through to the most beautiful golden orange sunlight dancing on the silver clouds beneath us. Some light scattered and made rainbows over the clouds. To one side there was a mighty wave of clouds, looking like a huge surfer's wave, frozen in time. I could also see the shadow of the plane flitting along on the cloud tops. I could wax lyrical for hours on many messages and symbols I was thinking of, but the main one was that the sun is always shining, it's just that sometimes we can't see it for the clouds. If you can fly above, you will be in perpetual sunshine. Reminds me of how God is seated in the heavenlies. He always sits in the light and doesn't have to worry about anything. We all worry, only because we can't see what's really happening...the clouds are obscuring the light for the moment. A break in the clouds always comes, together with a new awareness of seeing the light, and it's power and beauty. Must be a message there somewhere.

Shalom Israel
Shalom.....Hebrew for peace, wholeness, and more. How little we see this concept in the middle east. The Gaza strip is disintegrating, Lebanon is shooting itself in the heart, how sad that these nations show little, or no, evidence of being able to live in peace. Truly, they set a terrible example , along with Iraq, of what the Arab world appears to be. The pattern seems to be that, unless an iron fisted dictator or family controls the reins, the people just fight and destroy each other, destroying their country in the process. Contrast that to the western world, where, although there is dissent, there is democracy and order. Of course western society is not perfect and could be improved, but if it comes to a choice of the western Judeo/Christian ethical society where at least I can live peaceably and my wife has equal rights, or Arabian/Sharia society of great oppression, give me the former anytime, warts and all.

The Plodder
Still plodding along, with some successes and some failures. As long as I'm learning I suppose it's okay. I was training last night at some one's home. This is to be able to pray for sick/wounded people and to be able to discern any spiritual condition they have. Interesting, but I'm not sure I'm sold on everything. Made me think about those things in general. Who knows everything? I was on a site the other day that just slammed religion, there are no such people as Jews (makes you wonder why Hitler was so deceived), no such person as Jesus, evolution is king, bla bla. Then, I was on another website that proved creation and junked evolution. Just goes to show that there's so much stuff out there. My own spiritual walk is taking me, I think, deeper into the mystery of everything. If there is a God, and He made everything, He has to be a gazillion times more clever than us, together with being omnipresent, omniscient, etc. So, if He does exist, and is that powerful and intelligent, it's little wonder that our puny brains can't understand much about Him or the way He does things. Someone said they'd rather live a good life and find out there's no God when they die, rather than living a criminal life and finding out there is a Godd when they die - too late to do anything about it then. One of the things about keeping the Judeo/Christian creed is the the laws and commandments, if we kept them, would make a great society. It's good not to murder, steal, lie, and it's good to honor your parents and more. Mercy and compassion aren't bad things. I'm glad I don't feel so disillusioned with life that I feel the need to strap an explosive belt on my body stuffed with rusty nails and aids infected blood and detonate it in the local marketplace. There are of course some happy pagans, but, generally, when did you ever see a happy Moslem, or Buddhist? I think I'll stick with my faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and live in the the joy of His presence.
